Mainly just making bean based soups with a smoke ham bone thrown in. It's awesome. I also made a chili that I very much enjoyed.
No real point to this, I just really love my slow cooker.

I fear the slow cooker. But it does seem pervasive. I've said so many batshit crazy things to people like "it'll give you cancer" or " you'll get food poisoning" or "it'll burn down your house"- that if I broke down and bought one- I'd have to keep it a secret.

I don't know about the food poisoning or cancer bit, but it's worth giving it a try. But only if you are really going to use it, otherwise it's just going to take up space. I wouldn't worry about it burning your house down, but don't quote me on that.
I'll branch out to some different recipes and get back to you.

You've got to buy a pretty decent one, not the cheapest (but they're not that expensive anyway). I'll have a pot roast going for 11 hours in mine tomorrow. We've owned one for years but it wasn't until last year that I actually pulled it out. Now my wife and I both use it. She makes a delicious turkey chili in it, while I like to do larger pieces of meat in it. Our daughter loves the type of chicken used in mexican restaurants, so I've learned to make a very lean, healthy, low-sodium version of it that is just delicious (if I say so myself).

Roasts turn out beautiful. You can throw in any tough meat and cook it for ten hours, it'll turn out amazing.

Not to mention the pleasure of smelling great scents all day long as it cooks. I try to do something every weekend, though I gotta say I sometimes get nervous about leaving something cooking at home if we're going out for several hours on a weekend.
