I know. I'm so ovah her too. But this is so over-the-top it's fascinating. Filmed over six days at Hearst's San Simeon castle, featuring the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it is weirdly compelling and looks like it cost a fortune. The credits rolling at the end alone! Anyway, strange and not boring.

I just can't with her anymore. This strikes me as Gaga trying so hard to be an Artiste. She decided to to this after Beyoncé dropped the bomb with a visual album, and Beyoncé is not half of the visual artist that Gaga attempts to be. Also, I get shades of a better-done Katy Perry video here, especially considering the image of her with the cat eye liner reclining on a chaise lounge.
Watching the credits go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on (and on)... I kept thinking how much did this thing cost? It's bad enough that the press was literally blaming the financial flop that was Artpop for the 4Q layoffs at Interscope. I mean, this POS isn't going to help sell anything. Even at 2 mil + views in 24 hours, that's a whopping $10k in gross revenue for the label. This will never pay for itself, because it certainly isn't going to sell any records. Well, perhaps the promotional considering that Bravo paid might help a bit.
Oh, then there's the whole MJ, Jesus and Gandhi walk into a bar bit. Really? This is your vision? Andy Cohen is Zeus? He's far too polite to crack any jokes about this tonight on WWHL, but I just know there isn't a single friend he has that isn't giving him shit today for how extremely ghey this is.
I could excuse this if I could even remember the song, but I can't. And I own the album. None of this is reminiscent of the melodic hooks that were rampant in her earlier albums. Considering the fact that she was on forced hiatus recovering from surgery for a long time, I would have expected more out of this album. "Applause" has a great chorus, but it's just too self-indulgent. I'm turned off by all the ego dripping off of it. And there's absolutely nothing else on the album that I'm drawn to. Certainly not this song.
I just think there comes a point of diminishing returns with the spectacle of Gaga. She won't even walk from the door of her building to the car awaiting curbside without some Over The Top costume. My mere existence is a profound expression of Art as Consumer Product that I must bash over the collective head of the public because it must be experienced. I'm that important. She's just been drinking the Kool-Aid too long. Switch to water, honey. It's healthy for you.
Yeah, get back to me when you've got a good song. I'll be waiting and hoping.

Unbelievable video Merc- memerizing except for Donatelle Versace herself - she's almost unwatcheable- but everything else was magnifique! A bit Versace/Mo' like Liberace! Hey, I'm a rapper now! And because I am a garbage person who enjoys hate watching their show for the snarky recaps at NYMag, I got a campy kick seeing the RHoBHs. A couple look great, here is the best i've ever seen Kyle R: Anyway, not dull. The music, not so great. Biscuits, all your points are well taken. No idea wtf is going on with her, she's in her own brainworld at this point. (Oh, a funny- the DM called the Jesus character, "John Lennon". Lol.

Lol, Andy Cohen is full of shit. Or drunk. The Gandhi guy looks like Gandhi. The crown of thorns and the huge cross on the Jesus guy.. no, there's no Lennon here. Weirdly, I think Lennon would be MORE offensive to "resurrect", what with his living family and all. Weirdly, on the thrird or fourth watch, there are actually four tombs in that room.. who's in the fourth, I wonder? Perhaps.. Mohammed, whose image is never to be seen? Interesting.
I really enjoy this big messy spectacular expensive video. Clearly gave a lot of people jobs, from the four minutes of credits! As for the music, I do like the song "ArtPop"- her playing it with Elton on her Muppets Thanksgiving thing, looking like a madwoman who wanted to destroy Elton was compelling. It's a good song. The rest I'm not too keen on. Anyway, A for effort.
EDIT TO ADD: According to TMZ, the fourth tomb did indeed have John Lennon, but at the last minute they changed their minds and edited it out; that's why there's a 2 second freeze-frame on "Michael Jackson".
