We all know the story about how the producers of the film hinted to Ray Parker Jr. that they wanted a song reminiscent of "I Want A New Drug". Parker Jr. delivered the tune and was promptly sued by Huey Lewis.
Even so, I prefer "Ghostbusters" for reasons I cannot quite put my finger on.

I just listened to both songs on YouTube (7 minutes of my life that I'll never get back) and I think I can safely say that Ghostbusters is the superior tune because it mocks itself, whereas the Lewis tune takes itself pretty seriously. It also has the call and response aspect that I find endearing, and the spooky synth sounds really evoke that 80s haunted house vibe that takes me back to the trick-or-treating days of my youth.

I need an "indifferent" button. I turn them both off if they happen to enter my life, but they're too lame to hate...
